Abstract
Background: Retinoblastoma is a type of malignant cancer that attacks the retinal layer of the eye, compared to adults, this disease is more common in children. Intra-arterial chemotherapy is indicated as the first treatment for unilateral retinoblastoma and bilateral retinoblastoma. Objective: The purpose of this study was to conduct a literature search on the effectiveness of intra arterial chemotherapy in children with retinoblastoma. Method: The study used a literature review study at Google Scholar using the keywords “chemotherapy” and “intra-arterial” and “retinoblastoma”. The journal period used is 2012-2020. Result: Intra-arterial chemotherapy treatment in children with retinoblastoma was more effective than intravenous chemotherapy. Conclusion: Intra-arterial chemotherapy for advanced retinoblastoma is an important alternative treatment because it has minimal side effects and high success rate
