Abstract

Background:Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain which is a symptom that arises before and during menstruation,. One of the herbs is ginger. The type of music that Mozart music can use, because it can relax the body. Objective: This study was to determine the effectiveness of music therapy (mozart) and ginger drink on reducing dysmenorrhea. Method: This research used Quasi experimental. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data was collected by using a questionnaire distributed directly to the auditors as many as 15 respondents, namely students of the Notokusumo College of Health Sciences in Yogyakarta in the fourth semester who were experiencing dysmenorrhea. Result: The percentage of pain scale reduction results in the music therapy group was 80% or as many as 12 respondents. The results showed that classical music therapy (Mozart) had an effect on reducing the intensity of menstrual pain. It was found that an average value of 80% of respondents experienced pain reduction. The average menstrual pain scale before therapy was given is 5 (1-10). In the measurement after classical music therapy (Mozart), the pain scale can be reduced to 2. Conclusion: There was a significant reduction in pain when given classical music therapy (Mozart) and there was a decrease in the average menstrual pain scale before being given drinks and after being given ginger drinks.
