Abstract

Background : Based on a report from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2013), the country of Indonesia with a prevalence rate of chronic bronchitis is 20,607,561 people in the estimated population used of 237,865,523 people. Meanwhile, the prevalence for DI Yogyakarta is 3.1%. Ineffective airway clearance is a major problem in patients with bronchitis. Management of sputum production is able to restore respiratory function, help remove secretions from the bronchi, improve the movement and flow of secretions so as to facilitate the airway. Objective : knowing the effectiveness of the sputum removal method with quake device training and autogenic drainage in overcoming airway clearance in bronchitis patients. Methods : The research method used is a literature review study research design, namely by reviewing the results of previous research on 3 published journal articles. Result : quake device training and autogenic drainage effective in improving SpO2 in COPD patients and not causes a sudden drop in SpO2 as in Postural Drainage immediately after therapy. Conclusion : the quake device training method can increase airway clearance of secretions twofold compared to autogenic drainage and postural drainage.
