Abstract

Background: Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) on head injuries shows that 40-50% have permanent disability or disability. Therefore, someone who comes to the hospital with a head injury requires prompt and appropriate treatment so that the patient avoids disability and death. Every year the incidence of head injuries in the world is estimated at 500,000 cases of which more than 10% of patients die before arriving at the hospital and more than 100,000 sufferers suffer from various degrees of disability due to head injuries. The level of consciousness with GCS has a strong influence on the chances of survival and healing in head injury patients. Objective: To determine the type and effectiveness of non-pharmacological therapy management in increasing awareness in patients with moderate head injury. Methods: The research method used is a literature review study research design, namely by reviewing the results of previous research on 3 published journal articles. Results: The results of statistical tests using the Dependent Sample T-Test/ Paired T-Test show that the p-value is 0.000, which means p-value 0.05. This means that there is a significant effect of non-pharmacological therapy on the level of consciousness in moderate head injury patients. Conclusion: Giving oxygen, 30º head elevation and listening to murottal Al-Quran in patients with moderate head injuries will have an effect on increasing GCS awareness.
